Let's Play!: Nautical Nymph

Remember when I asked for ideas for a weekly segment of my own? Here it is! I'm a fan of watching "Let's Play!" videos on Youtube, which if you don't know, are videos of people playing video games from start to finish. I always liked how those two words sounded and they fit with this segment pretty well. Basically, I'm just going to be playing with my make-up c:

These aren't normal wearable looks, mind you. I do those from time to time (I have a few regular ones coming up, I promise!) The whole purpose of this segment is for me to play around with wild colors and use my face as a blank canvas -- not just my eyes.

*note* these are the photoshopped images :P the real untouched version of my eyes are below

This week's theme started with a lipstick. I've seen Maybelline's Coral Crush a million times at my local Target and managed to avoid the bright color for months... last week, not so much. I broke down and bought it, knowing I just HAD to use it. From there I decided on blue/green/gold eyes (I have no idea why) and ended up with something akin to a siren or water nymph. Nautical nymph is actually the username of a friend of mine on DA, so I hope she doesn't mind me using it P:

After priming/yadda yadda I used my NYX jumbo pencil on both my lids to give it a nice blue base. I used an angled brush to apply Planet Earth to the crease of my eye, and blending it all out to just below my brow bone. I put Baked over my lid and blended it just a tad with the blue. The rest of the blues are made up of Shattered, Glitz, and Whisper. At just the top of my brown bone is Le Blanc and Midnight Cowboy for a highlight. All of those colors are used in the blue going past my eyes and up my temple.

Beneath my eye I used a liner brush to apply Absinthe, just to add that touch of green. As I mentioned before, I have Coral Crush on my lips. All I did prior to applying was gently exfoliate my lips with a damp washcloth.

Aaaaand here's a derpy picture in my bathroom's horrible lighting. I don't know why, but it amuses me to see the make-up in crap lighting.
