Overdue Review!

It's been a while since I've done a blog! I have quite a few things to talk about and review in here and after cursing at my camera and deciding that it his a huge piece of (expletive), I'm ready to get down to business and do some loooong overdue reviews!

Firstly, I would like to review my Sugarpill products. Yes, I already did a blog about them, but I hadn't personally used the products yet. I did use them while I was on vacation with Courtney in Florida (we both used our Sugarpill goodies for looks when we went to see Alice) and have been using them like crazy since! I honestly can't wait to order more and be showered in pigmented goodness! To say these a vibrantly pigmented is and understatement! They are soo stunning and if my camera wasn't such a piece of (another expletive), I'd have some pictures to go along with this. I use Flamepoint and Buttercupcake with almost any look and last Tuesday, since I was wearing such dark colors, I decided to do bright eyes. I used Flamepoint, Buttercupcake and Look At Me from Heavenly Naturals, sectioning my lid in thirds to have all three colors. I got a lot of compliments on the look and everyone said it reminded them of spring, which finally hit good ol' Nebraska! (It was 80 degrees today!) I strongly recommend Sugarpill to anyone and I look forward to getting more products (and a pallet!) from them soon.

Second, I'd like to do a small review of the Heavenly Naturals loose pigments that Courtney got me for my birthday. Yes, my birthday was almost two months ago, but better late than never, right? I really do love the colors she picked out for me and I use Look At Me and Teen Angel all the time! All the shadows are also sparkly, which I like. I like looks and colors that pop and there's nothing like a little glitter to give a girl some pop!
These are the colors she bought me and I'll hopefully (if I remember) do swatches soon. I'll also remember to take more pictures of the looks I do so everyone can see these fabulous colors in action. The last thing I want to cover is a few little things I purchased while on vacation with Courtney. I'm fairly certain that all of them can be found at Wal-mart/Target/local drugstore and aren't too crazy on price. I'm pretty sure that I bought most of them for under 8 bucks.

Anywho, I'll start with the Hard Candy mascaras and liquid liner I bought. I like the designs on all three tubes, first of all. I think it's a personal touch as opposed to straight color or straight black with the brand name on it. I like the application of the liquid liner over my E.L.F felt tip liner, but if I want to do upper lid liner, I think I'd just go with my E.L.F one because it stays on longer and dries faster than the Hard Candy liquid liner. It can be a little messy, but that's my own personal experience. I'm not very good at top liner, so I encourage people to try it for themselves. The color is good once it dries, it's just hard to let it dry cause you kinda gotta keep your eyes closed or it smudges.

The next Hard Candy product is the Ginormous Lash volumizing mascara in Purple Haze. It's a purple mascara, as you can tell. It goes on very nicely and the color is very vibrant, the only downfall is that it doesn't stay on too long. A few hours and you can't even tell. Then again, I need to probably try this product on a day where I might not be moving a lot or sweating and since spring is finally here, my eyes have been watering a lot due to my allergies, so I'll give this a shot again when things calm down. I still use it, of course and I do like it, so if you want a cheap colored mascara, give it a shot. Hard Candy has other colors, too.

The last Hard Candy item is the Lash Call lengthening mascara. I bought 'After Hours' which is black. I really, really like this mascara. Not as much as the Lancome one, but it is actually pretty good. It lengthens my lashes and makes them look really nice, especially with bold looks, so yay on that front. Also, none of the three Hard Candy products are tested on Animals. Sugarpill doesn't test on animals, either, so if you like our animal pals, these products are for you! (Also, Sugarpill has vegan makeup. Just look for the logo)

Next, I bought (way back in March) some Loreal mascara because I was running low on mascara. I can't remember the exact name of this one, but it's supposed to be volumizing and it has collagen in it to plump the lashes. I'll use this mascara if I have to, but I don't like it all that much. It's kinda clumpy and goopy and the brush is weird. It does volumize, but it doesn't exactly have the best smell to it. I mean, it does was I need it to do, but in most cases I use my Hard Candy Last Call or if it's a really special event, I use my Lancome mascara.

Loreal also makes the HIP products, which Courtney turned me on to and it's a pretty good line of makeup. I picked up one of their Kohl liners in Black Kohl and I really do like it. It's kind of like a loose pigment and it's nice for a smokey look. I'm still getting used to using it and I would like to get more in other colors.

The last item I have for review is a product I kinda wish I hadn't spent the money on now that I've used it more than once, but hey, you live and you learn. You never know what you might find with taking makeup chances, but with this, I was expecting gold and I kinda got lead, if you catch my drift. It's the Smokey shadow blast from Covergirl, if you've seen the commercials. It's supposed to give you a good smokey look quickly, but I dunno. I tried applying it with the direction on the package and it came out looking kind of weird, so I ended up covering it with some like colors I had in my shadow collection. It looked nice with product over it, but by itself, it's kind of blah. So, after that I looked it up on Covergirl's website to get a better grasp, but that wasn't very helpful, so we'll see. Maybe I'll pick up another color (I bought the gray/light gray one) and see how that goes. They have it in a few shades, so we'll see. With that said, it is a good eyeshadow base if you have like colors, so... yeah.

That's about all I have for you folks this time. I'm hoping to get a better camera eventually and I'll make a note to start actually taking pictures of my looks, especially when they come out well, so stay tuned.
