I haven't posted in a hot second, so here we go. I have a crapton of hauls and reviews to do, so I'm hoping to get back on board and post a few of these at least these week. Before I get started with the haul, I want to pose a question. I've been pondering the idea of doing my own weekly segment, but I have no idea on what. Rants? Raves? Movie of the week? Underground or Old School video game of the week? Best places to download porn? So many topics :P I'd like some feedback on what kind of weekly segment you'd like to see from me.
And now to the haul.
Aromaleigh is a mineral makeup company created over a decade ago and has a reputation for great customer service and honest products. As in, none of that shit you'll buy at Lime Crime. Despite a folder full of pictures of haul stuff that I need to do, I've chosen Aromaleigh to start with because a) the products really are fabulous and b) they're closing. Yup. Aromaleigh will be taking orders until the 15th of August (unless the date changes again) and are currently offering 35% off site-wide orders. They won't be taking more orders until the 30th of this month, so I would urge everyone to place an order when they're open again. Check out the website here: http://www.aromaleigh.com/
Now, onto the goodies.
Though it came in a pretty simple mail envelope, I liked the addition of the tissue paper.
A personalized "thank you" and four samples doesn't hurt, either. C: I didn't swatch the samples because I personally don't like to. There's not enough in that baggie for me to wear it enough times to have a good opinion on it. And getting the brush into that bag is hell.
I didn't order much for my first round -- they were having a sale on their Aroma Rocks! collection, so I thought I'd try some shadows from that and a lip color of some sort.
First off, the shadows are gorgeous. They're very pigmented and hold nicely throughout the day. Spellbound and Estranged are more matte than anything else, whereas Fanclub and Planet Earth are filled with shiny. Planet Earth is a GREAT color to blend with other blues. Planet earth and Spellbound only need a swipe of your brush, whereas Fanclub and Estranged could use two or three strokes to get a solid color on. These jars come packed with product, so open carefully.
When I first saw this lip color I thought it was going to be a tinted chapstick, which I suppose it kind of is, but it's a lot creamier than you'd think. I don't remember exactly what this was called, and it's apparently no longer in stock, but it's from their Gothic Lolita collection; the color is Pinafore. I absolutely love this. As I said, it goes on really creamy and it's almost like a lip gloss only minus the stickiness and high-shine. I can wear this color alone, but I find it more useful over a pinky lipstick to give it that pizazz.
And that does it for Aromaleigh! I don't remember what I paid for all this because it was quite a while ago, but I do know I got most of it on sale, I think the eyeshadows might have been about $3 a piece. Since they're closing shop, I believe they're running a "vault" type inventory thing where they're selling off old invo items one by one, so there's a chance they still have these particular items in stock. Even if they don't, I recommend checking them out. They're not pricey to begin with, so with the coupon you're really getting a steal. In addition to that, their products are awesome, pigmented, and their shipping is pretty fast. Of course, shipping is relative to your location. I live in the U.S., so it got to me fairly quickly.
