Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland Palette
I was excited for probably two minutes. Those two minutes entailed thoughts of bright new colors, exciting and daring shades that matched the wacky world of Alice. All those hopes were dashed when I noticed the fine print: There are no new shades in this palette, they are all ones that have been released in previous "Book of Shadow" collections. Uh... lolwut? I understand that it's probably a pain in the ass for Urban Decay to release new shades with every palette, but if it's something as big as Alice in Wonderland, I don't see how they can just repackage old shades. Maybe it's just me. I was going to buy this palette until I remembered I already have the Book of Shadows collection and therefore own half the shades as it is :P
Moving on...

Flirt, #18 in the Anita Blake Series by Laurell Hamilton
I have been a fan of this series since I discovered it about eight years ago. I was there for all the ups and downs, Hamilton's unfortunate "let's have sex every page" fad to "let's take eight chapters to describe metaphysical energy" kick. Through it all I have remained a devoted fan to the series, so imagine my delighted surprise when I checked my e-mail to see a Border's newsletter that had a small feature on Flirt. I quickly realized that I had yet to finish the previous book, Skin Trade, so now I have been reading like a mad woman to finish it quickly. Unfortunately I was very perplexed when I had to make a run to Walmart and saw Flirt on the shelves and picked it up to discover... it's the size of a young adult novel. If you've never read Laurell Hamilton's books, trust me when I say they're huge. I carry some big ass purses and even then I can barely squeeze her novels into them. I picked up this flimsy little pamphlet and was unsure I could even use it as a paper weight.
I will be purchasing it anyway once I finish Skin Trade, I just really hope the size doesn't mean it's crappy and lackluster. We'll see.
